How to Make a Dub Pack

Start with a video you have permission to use, mark each playable line, add characters and dialogue, validate the project, then export the Dub Pack.

Tested with v1.4.7Verified 2026-08-25

Prepare the source

  • MP4 scene video
  • Permission to publish the material
  • Short, clearly separated lines
  • Character names and captions

The current recommended community tool is the Dub Mod Maker linked from the game's creator guide. Keep the source project as well as the exported ZIP so you can correct it later.

Build the playable lines

  1. Drag the MP4 into the Mod Maker. Confirm the preview has picture and audio before marking clips.
  2. Separate voice and background audio. Use Split voice & background when the tool supports the source cleanly.
  3. Mark each clip. Start places the first boundary and subsequent boundaries; End closes the final clip.
  4. Add characters and dialogue. Define the cast, assign a character to each line, and enter the caption players should perform.
  5. Complete Mod setup. Add a clear title, original creator credit, language, and other requested metadata.

Validate before export

Open Validation & export and resolve every missing-file, timing, character, or metadata error. For Workshop compatibility, use MP4 or WebM video. Original OGV-based packs should be converted before local import or publication.

Keep individual clips at 60 seconds or less. Very long scenes are harder to install, play, and render on low-memory devices even when the ZIP is within the current upload limit.

Dub Mods and Judge Mods are different

A Dub Mod supplies the playable scene. A Judge Mod changes the four judges, names, score labels, feedback lines, art, and reaction sounds; it does not replace scoring rules or game code. Use the technical documentation when building either package manually.

Publish or test locally

Import the exported ZIP through Mods and complete a short Single Player test before publishing. Check every caption, character, boundary, original line, background track, result playback, and video export. When the pack works locally, continue to Upload to Creator Workshop.
