How to Play Voxalike

Prepare one trusted Dub Pack and your microphone, run Mic Check, record each line, then preview and save the WebM result.

Before you start

  • A current Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari browser
  • A microphone allowed by your browser and operating system
  • Headphones to reduce speaker echo
  • A trusted Dub Pack with short scenes for the first round

Account note: Local Mod play does not require an account. Workshop subscriptions, ratings, and uploads may require one.

Choose how to add a Dub Pack

Workshop Subscribe

Use this when you are signed in and want the Workshop to remember a community pack. Review the uploader and rights notes before subscribing.

Browser Install

Use Install from a trusted pack page to make the pack available in the current browser. Wait for the install confirmation before opening a room.

Local Import

Import a pack file already on your device. Local play can work without an account, but you are responsible for trusting the source and having permission to use its media.

Play a solo round

  1. Open the game and choose Solo. Expected result: the game asks you to select an installed or local Dub Pack. If none appears, return to the pack step above.
  2. Select a short scene and run Mic Check. Expected result: your normal voice is detected without clipping. If the check is silent, open the microphone setup guide.
  3. Record the displayed line. Speak after the cue. Use Retry to replace a weak take or Skip when that option is available.
  4. Review the result. Watch the assembled dub, then start the export while the page stays visible.
  5. Save the finished file. Expect WebM unless the game explicitly presents another format. If saving stalls, use the export guide.

Play with friends

  1. Choose Co-op or PVP. Co-op shares the dubbing task. PVP adds competitive turns and scoring.
  2. Create a room and share the room code privately. Do not post a live room code in public support threads.
  3. Wait for the room Mod to finish installing for every player. If anyone remains on Installing room mod, follow the multiplayer recovery steps.
  4. Start only after the roster and pack match. The host controls the round and should keep the tab open until everyone has saved the result.

Recording controls

Record captures the current line. Retry replaces that take. Skip moves on when the mode permits it. On the result page, preview the full scene before exporting so you can catch a silent or clipped line early.

  • Keep the tab open during rendering
  • Save the WebM before leaving

If the first round still fails

Record your browser name and version, operating system, game mode, pack source, the exact step that failed, and any visible error text. Never publish a room code, email, recording, or local filename. Start at the Troubleshooting Hub or contact the game team through voxalike.com.
